THE TRAIL CHOPPER

The Trail Chopper is a purpose-built fixed blade designed as a companion to the Raven / Nodus TrailTrekker. Compact, overbuilt, and made entirely by hand in Kansas City, it carries the same design language, colors, and no-nonsense functionality as the watch it was inspired by. This is a working knife—built for the outdoors, for camp tasks, and for people who value tools made with intention.

Purpose

Built from D2 bar stock, the Trail Chopper is machined, heat treated, stone washed, and sharpened by hand. Its short, thick blade provides strength and control well beyond its size, while the dark olive green Cerakoted scales match the bezel color of the TrailTrekker—visually tying the knife and watch together as a matched set of tools.

Designed as a heavy-duty camp knife, the Trail Chopper is suited for chopping kindling, food prep, cutting rope, and general camp work. The compact profile makes it easy to carry, while the quarter-inch-thick blade and full grip give it the confidence of a much larger knife when real work needs to be done.

About the Maker

Each Trail Chopper is made by Marcus, a Kansas City–based machinist and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Marcus enlisted in 2008, served with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines out of Camp Lejeune, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. After his military service, he attended gunsmithing school and worked with CZ Pistols before becoming an independent machinist.

From steel selection to heat treatment, finishing, scales, and the Kydex sheath, every part of this knife is made by hand. The Trail Chopper reflects Marcus’s background—practical, durable, and built with purpose.
